Teacher Rep report
Thank you to the Community BBQ sub-committee team for hosting our BAPS BBQ event last Tuesday evening. The kids had such a good time.
We had Track and Field Day on May 20th.
The Areas for Track and Field took place today. We had many students competing against other students in their age brackets for various sports. We are very proud of our students for representing BAPS and trying their best.
May was East Asian, Asian, Dutch, Armenian and Jewish Heritage Month - Student Leadership students created announcements and displays.
June is National Indigenous Heritage Month and Pride Month, where we will be learning about these communities through an asset-based lens. June is also Filipino, Italian, and Portuguese Heritage Month. Student leaders will share some messaging with the school community.
June 2nd-6th is Bike to School Week.
EQAO is over for our grade 6s. The grade 6 team is so proud of our students. Parents will get the results around November of next year, so in the grade 7 year.
Our Eco Club earned BAPS a gold medal in the ECO Schools standings, which is great!
The grade 7 swim-to-survive trips are taking place this week and last.
The grade 8 cardboard boat races will be taking place on June 18th at Centennial Pool. Students will begin building their boats the week before.
Today is the last day to order grad apparel.
Extracurricular activities in action:
- Student leadership is still ongoing, as is Dance club, Junior art club, the GSA, Eco club, and Intermediate soccer (intermediate soccer areas are on June 5th). Ultimate frisbee is coming up (grade 7s only).
BAPS on Broadway: Frozen Jr. was a huge success. It was a wonderful performance and hopefully you had the opportunity to see the production.
65 Grade 7 and 8 students wrote the University of Waterloo Gauss Math Contest on May 14th. They had a congratulations and certificate meeting last Friday.
The grade 3 students from Michaelle Jean PS will be visiting BAPS on June 13th. They will have a brief introduction presentation from Mme Russiello and some Student Leadership committee members. They will also have a short presentation by the Wind Band and Junior Choir.
Junior Play Day is on June 20th - Grades 4 to 6 students will rotate through a variety of games and activities facilitated by teachers and Intermediate Student Leadership Committee students.
The BAPS showcase (talent show) is on June 25th.
The last day of school is June 26th - half day - dismissal is 11:20 am that day. There is no school on June 27th.
Treasurer’s Report:
- Funds raised = $28 424.44 (including the $3000 carry over from last year)
- Pasta program is doing well - $1000 this term
- Balance after all - June 2025 - $7991.47 (including the $3000 carry over from last year)
- Proposed - branded tent and table covers and tear-drop flags with logos (name on all four sides of the tent with a tear-drop stake in flag that goes in the ground)
- Approx. $3000 - voted on and approved on last year- Put Beverley Acres Public School crest on the table cloth
General Items:

Maybe next year, do an online bidding system prior to the event
